I am a journalist, writer and commentator, focusing on contemporary sector issues across placemaking, architecture and the built environment, visual and public arts, and arts and place research in higher education.  

I have a reputation for well-written, well-informed and opinionated commentary on contemporaneous sector issues. I write in the national press and for arts and urban sectors, as well as copywriting, blogs, evaluation and report writing for the arts and creative and cultural industries.  

I have written for, amongst others, New Planner, Guardian Cities, Arts and Culture Professionals Network; a-n magazine; This Big City; Frame and Reference; Global Urbanist; Arts Council England' Conran&Partners; Le Cool; and Arts Professional. 

I am also sole author of Arts in Place: The Arts, the Urban and Social Practice, (Routledge, 2017) and co-editor of: Creative Placemaking and Beyond (Routledge, 2018), with Dr Anita McKeown; Custard, Culverts and Cake: Academics on Life in The Archers (Emerald, 2017), with Dr Nicola Headlam; The Archers in Fact and Fiction: Academic Analyses of Life in Rural Borsetshire (Peter Lang, 2016), with Dr Nicola Headlam and Dr Peter Matthews; and EDGE Condition, April 2014-ongoing, co-founder/editor, online publication focusing on architectural creative working and discourse.

I also undertake copying writing and pitch writing for clients.
