Opening Placemakig School, Jacksonville for its 2025 class

Placemaking means many things to many people - and that’s both its strength and its challenge.

On 4 November I’ll be opening the Downtown Vision Inc. Placemaking School in Jacksonville, unpacking what placemaking is (and isn’t), tracing its global evolution, and exploring how communities, artists, and civic partners shape place together.

It’s an honour to have been invited by Kady Yellow to open the school year and set the tone for this brilliant initiative - one that invests in the shared language, ethics and practice needed to make place with purpose.

Looking forward to joining colleagues and practitioners at The Jessie to begin this six-week learning journey.
